Dental Crowns in Wibsey

Damaged, discoloured teeth can keep you from smiling and eating confidently.

Dental crowns are a versatile way to give your teeth the much-needed strength. Dental Crowns in Wibsey are custom-made to suit your personality and make eating easy.

What are dental crowns?

Dental crowns, also known as ‘caps’, are custom-made coverings that fit snugly over a tooth. They correct the tooth’s shape, size, strength, and appearance. These crowns can be made of durable materials such as porcelain, ceramic, or metal, depending on your preferences and dental requirements.

Dental crown types

  • Ceramic Crowns: Ceramic crowns are made entirely of ceramic materials, giving them a natural, tooth-like appearance that blends in with your smile. They are a popular choice for dental crowns on front teeth due to their aesthetic appeal. Advanced ceramic crowns, such as Emax or LAVA crowns, are praised for their ability to match tooth shades with extreme precision. Zirconia ceramic crowns are the ideal choice for back teeth because they combine strength and durability.
  • Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal (PFM) Crowns: These crowns represent the best of both worlds. They have a strong metal base for durability, and the porcelain overlay creates a natural tooth-like appearance. These crowns are effective for both front and back teeth, providing both strength and aesthetics.

Benefits of dental crowns

Investing in dental crowns has many advantages, namely:

Strength and durability

Strength and durability: Dental crowns protect your teeth from further damage while also restoring biting, tearing, and chewing functions.

Ceramic dental crowns are custom-designed to match the colour and shape of your teeth, blending seamlessly into your smile.

Dental crowns help to protect damaged teeth.

Dental crowns are a versatile option that can address both functional and cosmetic dental concerns with equal success. While they have the natural appearance of dental veneers, they also allow you to confidently eat a variety of foods, as do dentures, dental bridges, and implant crowns.

A restored smile can significantly boost your self-esteem, which can lead to increased confidence.

Here is how a missing tooth in the back of the mouth may impact you:

  • Metal Crowns: Gold, palladium, nickel, and chromium are examples of metal alloys used in crowns. These crowns, known for their durability and longevity, are ideal for molars, which withstand the most intense biting forces. They do not blend in as well with teeth, so they are frequently placed in less visible areas.
  • Stainless Steel Crowns: Prefabricated crowns are commonly used as temporary solutions for permanent teeth or to protect children’s primary teeth in paediatric dentistry. These crowns are especially effective at preventing further decay in baby teeth while allowing permanent teeth to grow properly.
  • Temporary crowns: Acrylic resin crowns are a low-cost, short-term solution. Temporary dental crowns, while not as long-lasting as permanent options, are a dependable interim solution during longer dental procedures.

Who can get dental crowns?

Dental crowns are a suitable option for a variety of dental concerns:

  • Severely decayed teeth: Crowns are used to protect and restore severely decayed teeth when a filling is insufficient.
  • Cracked or broken teeth: Crowns help hold the tooth together and prevent further damage.
  • Post-Root Canal Treatment: Dental crowns are particularly necessary after a root canal treatment (RCT) to provide added strength. It also protects the treated tooth from future damage.
  • Cosmetic concerns: Crowns are an appealing solution for discoloured or misshapen teeth.
  • Dental implants: Crowns are used to finish the appearance and functionality of dental implants.

Started treatment here a good few months ago , after over 30 years of fear of the dentists which bordered on phobia . Top class treatment administered by top class people , everyone from reception through to dental nurse and Dr.Rosina Cutler . Never thought that I could ever get through the treatment , but the care taken by them all has been second to none . I would highly recommend Taylored Dental Care , especially if you might be a nervous patient. Many thanks to you all .

Where visits to the dentist are concerned I am extremely nervous. In the past this has meant I have avoided any kind of dental care which obviously isn’t good. Having seen adverts for Taylored Dental Care in Wibsey Bradford, and the promise of treating patients sympathetically, I made an appointment. I’ve been going now for a number of years and can say that I’ve had the best experience. All the staff are incredibly caring, trustworthy and listen to and manage my anxieties and concerns. Unbelievably to me, I’m in a position now where I don’t have any worries or anxiety before my appointments. My dentist is the lovely Rosina and I have also had care from Charlotte Helliwell. Both are great and all the staff (reception, assistants) are fantastic. I’m posting this in the hope that it will help someone who has the same anxiety for the dentist that I used to have. If you do, I strongly recommend that you use Taylored Dental Care.
